Welcome to The Bark Park!

A Message from Kaiya: The Heart Behind the Park

Hi there! My name is Kaiya, and if you see a tail blurring with excitement at the gate, that’s probably me. My life hasn’t always been about tennis balls and neighborhood strolls.

Before I found my forever pack, things were pretty scary. I was only two years old, sitting in a loud, crowded kill shelter in LA. I had just given birth to six puppies and had just finished my medical treatments. Between the surgery and the recovery, I wasn’t feeling like my sparkly self. However, I was then saved by the Embrace Society and was brought over the boarder.

While my friends were out on the floor wagging for attention, I was tucked away in a quiet room in the back, just trying to heal. I honestly didn’t think anyone would find me back there.

Then suddenly, the door opened. Two people walked in, and our eyes met. With every ounce of energy I could find, I tried to show them the love I had been saving up. When they opened my kennel, I walked right up to the man who would become my dad. He reached out his hand, I gave his finger a little lick, and then I did the one thing that felt right: I sat right down at his feet.

To this day, sitting right between my owners' feet is my ultimate safe space. They chose me when I felt invisible, and the rest is history.

That’s why The Bark Park is so important to me. I know what it’s like to need a safe haven, a friendly neighborhood, and a pack to call your own. We’ve built this place to be a sanctuary where tails wag, friendships bloom, and every dog—no matter their story—feels like they belong.

Welcome to our pack. I can't wait to sniff you out!

A Message from Ed Kang: From "Not Ready" to "The Bark Park"

I’ll be honest with you...for a long time, I was the guy who loved other people’s dogs. I appreciated them from a distance, but I wasn’t sure I was ready for the weight of that responsibility. I didn't know if I was ready for my life to change.

Then came Kaiya, and like the classic "reluctant dog dad" story goes, I fell hard.

The transformation was immediate. My phone storage disappeared under thousands of photos of her, and I found myself genuinely adoring the little quirks she’s had for years. But the real shift happened when I realized what unconditional love actually looked like. No matter how my day went, Kaiya was always the first to greet me at the door and the last one to say goodnight.

In that quiet moment of her sitting at my feet, I realized that we don't just own dogs...we share our lives with them.

That realization is exactly why The Bark Park exists. This venture isn’t just a business for me and my family; it’s a personal mission. We understand the deep trust it takes to hand over the leash, and we want to provide the same safe, fun, and enriching environment that I’d want for Kaiya.

Our goal is simple (if a bit ambitious): We want to pet every dog in the world. Since we might need a few lifetimes to achieve that, we’ve settled for scratching every belly and giving every pat we possibly can right here in our own neighborhood. We’ve built a sanctuary where your loved ones are treated like our own.

We’re so excited to welcome you into our pack. We hope to see you at the gate soon.
